Shuly Wintner's Research

Science is like sex: it may well have practical outcomes, but this is not why we do it.
Non scholae, sed vitae discimus

Research area

My main area of interest is computational linguistics (sometimes referred to as natural language processing); this is the intersection of computer science and linguistics. I am particularly interested in applying methods and techniques from computer science to the study of linguistic formalisms, and in computational processing of Hebrew.

Service and Organization

Editor in Chief, Research on Language and Computation

Chair, ACL Special Interest Group on Computational Approaches to Semitic Languages
