Background

FGNancy is the 9th conference on Formal Grammar held in conjunction with the European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information, which takes place in 2004 in Nancy. Previous meetings were held in Barcelona (1995), Prague (1996), Aix-en-Provence (1997), Saarbruecken (1998), Utrecht (1999), Helsinki (2001), Trento (2002) and Vienna (2003).

Aims and Scope

FGNancy provides a forum for the presentation of new and original research on formal grammar, with particular regard to the application of formal methods to natural language analysis.

Accepted abstracts will be included in the conference proceedings, to be distributed at the conference. Full, revised versions will also be made available after the conference as CSLI Publications Online Proceedings.

Social Program

A conference dinner is planned for Saturday, August 7th, at A la Table du Bon Roi Stanislas. Price, 22.80 euros, not including wine.

Registration and accommodation

Registration will be handled by the ESSLLI local organizers. Registration fee is Euro 20 for ESSLLI participants, Euro 50-60 for others (early/late). Fees include one copy of the Proceedings. Accommodation will be handled by the ESSLLI organizers only for participants of ESSLLI, and only for the period starting Saturday, August 7th. Other participants of FGNancy are expected to arrange their own accommodation. See the ESSLLI accommodation web page.
