Title: Computational methods for
extracting knoledge from genomics data: from yeast to mammals
Abstract:
Broad availability of diverse functional data in genomics combined with
advanced computational analysis and prediction has the promise to lead the
field to fast and accurate functional annotation and generation of network
models. I will discuss our recent work on developing machine-learning
approaches and fast search-based algorithms that extract accurate biological
knowledge from very large collections of diverse genomics data, including
microarray and proteomics datasets. Further, I will present an integrative,
iterative system we developed for integration of these methods with targeted
experiments to enable fast and accurate computation-driven discovery of
novel biology.
